With the new year just around the corner, and our new website now live and functioning, it is time to release the details of our 2018 cycling event calendar.
We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. If like many people, you ate or drank a little too much over the holidays, then you might already be thinking about your fitness and setting yourself targets to aim at. Our cycling events very much fit this bill.
2018 Cycling Event Calendar
2018 will see Bostin’ Ride running four separate cycling sportives. These are the Bostin’ Chase Sportive, Bostin’ Vyrnwy Velo Sportive, Bostin’ Peaks Sportive and the Bostin’ Bridge Sportive. You will find more details about each of these forthcoming events below.
We think we have come up with an exciting event line up for 2018, and don’t forget, we are offering some great discounts in 2018, including our launch week discount. Information about the discounts we are currently offering can be found on the website.
Bostin’ Chase Sportive
This cycling event covers a route that winds through the stunning countryside of Shropshire and Stafforshire including Cannock Chase and Blithfield Reservoir. The event starts and ends at Harper Adams University, near Newport, with all three of our routes sharing a common opening section, before splitting up to cover their own course. Bostin’ Vyrnwy Velo Sportive
This will be the fourth time that we have organised this cycling event. Although this year, we have made a few changes. A new larger starting venue has been arranged, at the Welshpool Livestock Market. This, of course, has meant a route change at the start and added a few extra kilometres and a few feet of climbing. As in previous years, the event takes cyclists through some wonderful Welsh countryside, with the route passing through parts of the Welsh Lake District. Click here for further details about this event.
Bostin’ Peaks Sportive
This is our original cycling event, and it still remains the longest and most challenging of our cycling sportives. As in previous years, the event will be starting at Uttoxeter Racecourse, the route takes in some of the scenery of Staffordshire and Derbyshire, before heading into the Peak District National Park for the final section on the longer routes. Click here for further details about this event.
Bostin’ Bridge Sportive
This event was known, last year, as the Newport Cyclo Sportive. This year we have modified the route, as well as rebranded it. The event begins at the Harper Adams University, in Newport, Shropshire. The route then enters the Shropshire countryside, passing farmland along country roads, with all three routes having a feed station at Stoke on Tern. Here the routes split, with the silver and gold riders heading south over the Wrekin and towards historic Coalbrookdale and the Iron Bridge. Click here for further details about this event.
