Cycling Routes for our 2018 Cycle Sportive Events


We recently published a blog post that detailed the four cycling events that we will be running next year. In this post, we are going to expand on the information we gave you earlier, and cover the cycle routes that these events will follow.

Bostin’ Chase Sportive

Below is a map of the Bostin’ Chase Sportive cycling route for 2018:

When: 25th of April 2018

Where: Harper Adams University near Newport, Shropshire

The event, and hence the cycling routes for the Bostin’ Chase Sportive, arecompletely new for 2018, with Harper Adams University being both the start and end point of the event.

All three routes share a common starting section, through the Shropshire countryside. At Penkridge, our bronze riders begin to loop back to the starting point, while our silver and gold riders will continue on their extended cycling route eastwards over the former Royal forest at Cannock Chase and beyond.

Bostin’ Vyrnwy Velo Sportive

Below is a map of the Bostin’ Vyrnwy Velo Sportive cycling route for 2018:

When: 16th of May 2018

Where: Welshpool Livestock Market

In 2018, the cycling route for the Bostin’ Vyrnwy Velo Sportive has changed slightly, most noticeably in the fact that the Welshpool Livestock Market will be the new 2018 HQ for this event, offering larger car parking and better facilities.

All three cycle routes share the same 15 mile start, through Buttington and then onwards to the market town of Welshpool. At Bwlch-y-Cibau, our bronze riders turn towards Nant Alan River Valley, with our silver and gold riders heading to Lake Vyrnwy and Lake Bala, respectively.

Bostin’ Peaks Sportive

Below is a map of the Bostin’ Peaks Sportive cycling route for 2018:

When: 6th June 2018

Where: Uttoxeter Racecourse

This year’s cycling route for the Bostin’ Peaks Sportive is the predominantly the same as last year. All three routes begin at Uttoxeter Racecourse, taking in some stunning Staffordshire scenery, before our bronze riders begin their journey back to HQ. Silver and gold riders continue, crossing over into the Peak District National Park, before turning eastwards back towards HQ.

Bostin’ Bridge Sportive

Below is a map of the Bostin’ Bridge Sportive cycling route for 2018:

When: 22nd July 2018

Where: Harper Adams University, near Newport, Shropshire

This year’s cycling route for the Bostin’ Bridge Sportive will once again use the Harper Adams University as HQ. All three cycle routes head North through the Shropshire farmland to Stoke on Tern and the first feed station. After the bronze riders loop back to HQ whilst the gold and silver continue on eventually passing over the Wrekin and following the banks of the River Severn through Coalbrookdale and past the iconic Iron Bridge.
