To keep all our followers informed, we want to post an update on our 2021 Bostin’ Ride events.
Yesterday, British Cycling announced that following a meeting with Sport England and other national governing bodies, they now feel able to announce a timetable, subject to change, for the return of sportives and other cycling events. Bostin’ Rides consider the pronouncements of British Cycling to be important and their guidance generally accepted as industry best practice.
British Cycling are expecting to receive definitive guidance for grassroots sport from Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on the week commencing Monday 22 March. There remains uncertainty in a number of key areas including travel restrictions, indoor activity, spectating and facility use, and a full suite of revised guidance documents will be published once these details have been confirmed.
At the moment we are still accepting online bookings for all our 2021 events as we remain more hopeful than ever that some, if not all, of our events will take place in some form this year. However, there is still a lot of guidance to be announced, to understand, to implement and to arrange before any event can take place and we would of course not be able to hold events unless we have sufficient riders booked in and so time to advertise any event would need to be factored in as well. It may, therefore, become inevitable that our early events will need to be postponed to allow time for everything to fall in to place – we hope not but, again, we just don’t know at this time.
It goes without saying that anyone who enters an event which does not take place will be credited so that they can enter a later event, as before.
We thank you for your continued support and understanding during these unprecedented times.
We look forward to seeing you at a Bostin’ Ride event soon but, in the meantime, stay safe and happy cycling!
The Bostin’ Ride Team
