We just wanted to post an update on our 2021 Bostin’ Ride events.
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of the roadmap out of lockdown on 22 February 2021, we are hopeful that we shall be able to provide some Bostin’ Ride events this year. However, at this time, we are uncertain as to the date that our events can commence. Not only do we have to satisfy the guidelines regarding social distancing, mass gatherings and the ability of our entrants to travel, but we also have to ensure that our venues, principally educational and community led buildings, are open and and will allow external visitors. As the government have stated the released roadmap dates are ‘guidance only’ and may well change as new data is received.
We are closely monitoring government and regional announcements, as well as British Cycling’s guidance, on the likely date of commencement for the opening of mass participation sporting events and hence the ability to start cycle sportives, and we would hope to be able to share the news as soon as we are able.
As we are all aware, despite the roll-out of the covid-19 vaccine, coronavirus is likely to be with us for a long time and this will change the way that we will have to operate our events, going forward. We will endeavour to keep our events as enjoyable and secure as we can, under whatever restrictions or procedures are necessary, to keep us all safe and will provide details of organisational changes when it is clear that an event can take place.
Following the postponement of all of our 2020 events we are of course hopeful that this years events can proceed and we thank you for your continued support and understanding during these unprecedented times.
We look forward to seeing you at a Bostin’ Ride event soon but, in the meantime, stay safe and happy cycling!
